Running... I've had a love-hate relationship with it for a long time. Sometimes I'd be enthusiastic for a while, and then I'd do nothing for half a year. When I did go running, it was often without a real plan. Just trying to go a bit faster and farther each time. Occasionally, I'd follow a simple schedule from the internet. But it never really gave me the confidence and structure I needed... During the Corona era, I started running more often. Through a colleague, I heard about Trenara.
I started with the free version of the app. But I quickly upgraded to Peak Pro. The fact that the workouts are automatically synchronized with my Garmin watch is fantastic. It removes an extra barrier to going outside. I find the structure of the workouts very pleasant. It's also reassuring to know that the workouts are adjusted based on how you've performed them. Overtraining won't happen. With the Eindhoven Half Marathon as my goal, I enthusiastically got started. It was exciting to see an interval workout in the app every week and think beforehand, "Can I do this?" And then come back with a big smile because it was a great workout. Completing my first half marathon, and even finishing it in under 2 hours... I couldn't have done it without Trenara.
The combination of easy-paced runs (yes, I've learned they're very important from Trenara) and challenging interval workouts means that after my recovery schedule, I'll quickly set a new goal in the app.
The quick feedback to questions is also pleasant. It's also good that not only Instagram is used for this, but also an email address. After all, not everyone is active on social media.
