Maybe a strange start, but running used to be a nightmare for me!

After a bet (Spartacus Run) in 2017, I reluctantly put on my running shoes to do some training... just to avoid making a fool of myself. Miraculously, I gradually began to enjoy running and went from 5km to 10km to the Antwerp 10 miles.

"If we can run 16km, then a half marathon should be feasible," I thought. It didn't seem wise to do this without proper preparation, so I scheduled a running test at Energy Lab along with a corresponding schedule.

In the meantime, I happened to come across Trenara on the internet, but since I had the Energy Lab schedule, I didn't use the app right away. After the half marathon, I was curious to try out Trenara and created my first schedule. I quickly switched to the paid version, which made the comfort of using the schedules even better: workouts that can be rescheduled, later export to the Garmin watch, ... and it just keeps growing and growing.

Before Trenara, I used the standard schedules you can find on the internet, but the personalized schedules from Trenara, constantly adjusted to my fitness level, are an absolute asset to me compared to everything else! From then on, it only got better and better, with one PR after another.

I had so much confidence in Trenara that I decided to take the plunge towards the marathon and join the Flandrien DNA project! Unfortunately, the coronavirus crisis threw a wrench in the works, causing it all to fall through. Stubbornly, I kept training and ran my first marathon just under 4 hours, and a year later, I ran 70km during the One More Loop event! Thanks to the personalized and varied schedules, the workouts were never boring, and I could complete each training session in a decent manner. So far, only success experiences (at my level)!

With the latest new schedules and additions in the app, after being sidelined for a while due to an injury, I'm eager to get back to giving it my all again with the next goal: the Great Breweries Marathon in 2022.

To be continued...
